Unless otherwise noted, all text content on all pages of Independent Needlework News is copyrighted 2007-2009 by the individual author of each post (usually Heather L. Orn; however, INN's technical support person, Jenna Magee, also has posting rights, and we've had Janet M. Perry as a guest blogger) and INN.
The copyright for any photographic content you see anywhere on INN is almost always owned by the designer, shop, needlework finisher, or stitcher who took or scanned that particular picture. (A very small handful of pictures were taken by me, and they are noted as such -- or pretty obvious, such as in the case of the "Meet Heather (and Her Roving Network of Reporters" page.) I believe it's usually fairly obvious by what I write to whom the copyright of a photo appearing on this site belongs to, but if you're ever unsure or think I've missed something, please feel free to ask me about it. (And yes, I DO make a compulsive habit of seeking permission from the appropriate people in order to post pictures or other content which belongs to them, as well as to give them the appropriate credit for their work. I do so not just because of copyright laws, and not just to practice what I preach, but because it's the right thing to do.).
I do occasionally make posts seeking who the designer of something is (for instance, I've found illegal designs on eBay, and want to find out who the real designer is, so I can purchase the design legally, and thus follow all copyright law by doing so). In such a post, I include a picture, I clearly note that I am seeking the real designer of the piece, and if/when I receive that info, I make the appropriate update to inform my readers, stay in compliance with copyright law, and do the right thing.
