Don’t Forget …

… to participate in Independent Needlework News’ current contest.

There are wonderful goodies to be won, and so far, very few entries.

That means your chances of winning are EXCELLENT!

    Kathy,

Thanks so much for your comment and compliments.

As far as how I find my news, I used to be an investigator for AT&T and then Lucent Technologies, the last three years of which were spent doing computer investigations. Much of those last three years also involved learning how to utilize the Internet to find or find out all kinds of things, and I have taken those investigative skills and put them to work for me here on INN.

I was doing this same research before starting INN, but doing it just for myself as a stitcher. However, I noted so many stitchers who felt that while they gained a lot from the Internet information-wise and in terms of access to and knowledge about designs from all over the world, they were also spending much less time actually stitching because they were spending so much time on the Internet RESEARCHING stitching.

I figured if I put all the information I was gathering for myself out onto the web in one place on INN, that it would allow them to spend a little bit of time regularly reading INN, and then they could get back to stitching. would be not only a service to stitchers, but also to the designers, shops, manufacturers, distributors, and so on who create the products we love and need to stitch. My “job” is getting easier, but also busier and more intense, very quickly because readers are bringing me tips, questions, or article ideas; and because designers, shops, and so on are planning ahead and asking me to write articles to help them get exposure for their designs, sales, products, etc.

In general, INN is my way of giving back to the entire needlework industry and community. In doing so, I hope to help foster the growth of the industry

I know I have run across some New Year patterns at some point. Please give me a week or so to do some investigating, and I’ll see what I can find for you. In the meantime, perhaps other INN readers will have some suggestions for you about New Year patterns, too.
