Do not support Wal Mart at any price. We have a new super Wal Mart and they no longer have a craft area. So look forward to them discontinuing crafts in all their stores in the next several years. Crafts are a low profit margin and high labor cost. This does not meet the Wal Mart model. So please go to your local craft store and supprot them even if the prices are a little higher.

Howdy everyone!
I did go to a Walmart the other day to purchase the DMC threads.
Now, reading the above articale~ the cashier did say that DMC was not being discontinued. But did not elaborate on it.
You could say that .10¢ a skein is a buy of a lifetime.....is Walmart now going against their "honest american values" to take advantage of us stitchers? Would DMC actually allow for the price to be pushed to ureasonable prices thru Walmart?
Thanks, Carol

If the Wal-Marts that now have DMC at 10¢ a skein right now follow the same route as a few stores that had their DMC at 10¢ a skein a couple years ago, then they're clearancing out their cross stitching department and will no longer carry any cross stitching supplies.

I didn't ask any employee at our store if they were clearancing it out or if it was just on sale, but FWIW, the SKU labels on the bins are marked in red, and going by other merchandise in the store, red labels = clearance prices as opposed to sale prices.

Eh, DMC is cheap enough at ACMoore or Michael's that I can't see the point of going to Walmart just for that. I mean, $0.10 vs $0.20 or $0.25 is really not much compared to, say $1.50 for specialty threads. Then again, Walmart's simply not that convient to me, and I'm not a thread collector.
